About Our Programs

Activity days are single day events that provide an opportunity for children to connect, improve mental health literacy, develop help-seeking behaviours, and provide a fun day out for some much needed respite. Activities can include ice skating, laser tag, bowling, movies, putt putt golf, and beach activities just to name a few! Activity days may be held on week days or weekends.

Camps are multi-day programs that provide an opportunity for connection, growth, and empowerment. Young people learn about mental illness and help-seeking behaviours, develop coping skills and resilience, build peer connection, participate in recreational and connection activities such as canoeing, archery, giant swings, go-karts and much more! Our camps run from approximately 4.00pm Friday to 4.00pm Sunday.

Connect sessions are “hosted” by Kookaburra Kids staff and volunteers online and are designed to be a fun, safe area where young people can express themselves in a supportive environment. Our connect sessions are interactive and follow a similar format as our activity days and camps; incorporating fun with mental health education.

Our camps and day activities are held in various locations across Australia, throughout the year.

The Opportunity

Empower young people to thrive through meaningful and fun work to make a positive impact in your community. As a Philanthropy Coordinator you will be instrumental in ensuring the success of Kookaburra Kids' fundraising program by combining exceptional coordination and relationship management skills with a strong understanding of modern fundraising practice.

The role is responsible for supporting high-quality stewardship, impact reporting, and fundraising systems to create outstanding experiences for our partners and donors. Alongside supporting and enhancing the broader fundraising team, the role manages a select portfolio of partnerships and maintains a small individual giving program. With a strong focus on collaboration, attention to detail, and relationship building, this role helps ensure our fundraising program operates seamlessly and delivers lasting impact. You will have hands-on involvement and impact in shaping the lives of young people.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who brings energy, initiative, and a knack for making things happen. You'll enjoy building strong relationships, creating exceptional supporter experiences and finding smarter ways of working while contributing to a cause that changes young lives. This is a dynamic role that blends relationship management, project coordination, and fundraising delivery. You will be the engine behind the smooth delivery of our fundraising strategy and will coordinate systems, reporting, stewardship, and processes that maximise fundraising outcomes.

You will have exposure to trusts and foundations, Government contracts, corporate partnerships, individual giving, and will help to ensure every partner receives timely, high-quality touchpoints that demonstrate the impact of their support. You'll coordinate reporting and stewardship schedules, and implement systems and processes that keep the fundraising team organised, compliant and operating at its best.

But this is not simply and administrative role, you will also take ownership of a portfolio of grant applications and funding partnerships, identifying opportunities, preparing compelling proposals, and nurturing relationships that contribute to sustainable income growth. You will also play a key part in maintaining our small individual giving program.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing together strategy, organisational skills and fundraising experience to create meaningful impact. Key Responsibilities

• Proactively develop, improve, and monitor fundraising systems and processes.

• Monitor funding agreements, reporting schedules, stewardship plans, and key deliverables, ensuring commitments are met on time and to a high standard.

• Deliver and support exceptional stewardship for philanthropic partners and Support the development of donor communication.

• Coordinate donor communications, appeals, acknowledgements, and stewardship activities to deliver an outstanding donor experience.

• Maintain Kookaburra Kids individual giving program and identify opportunities for incremental growth over time as well as collaboratively on annual appeals.

• Identify, manage, and take ownership of grant applications while working collaboratively on large grants and proposal development.
